MY ENTERTAINMENT -translation-

This time I am really keeping up the translation momentum and am already back with the next one, MY ENTERTAINMENT, which also won a poll on Twitter recently. Honestly been wanting to do this one ever since it came out (not sure why I haven't gotten it done earlier tbh), since it's such an amazing song that reflects  upon the pandemic we all have been weathering for the past few years - how it's affected us and what sort of things, namely music, has had the power to help us pull through it.

FIRE SCREAM -Translation-

I'm back with my translations with FIRE SCREAM that won my poll on Twitter some time ago! It took me a while to get on with this one but I am picking up the pace again and hoping to release quite a few in quick succession so please look forward to that. 

I've been playing a lot of Baldur's Gate 3 in the past half year so this one was a fun one to tackle due to the thematic similarity to Karlach and her story. Noticing that FIRE SCREAM actually has one line that was just「君のために」/ "For you" really tugged at my heartstrings because of how incredibly spot on it was in terms of one very emotional Karlach moment (iykyk). I don't really make AMVs that much anymore, but might consider this pair if Baldur's Gate 3 finally gets its photo mode or I can find the energy to learn and install a camera MOD so I can take better vids in game.

Turn the World -Translation-

 

Trying to keep the momentum in translating lyrics so I am back again with Turn the World! I quite like the message in this one so it was easy to motivate myself to get to it in a pretty timely manner after finishing Link or Chains. I also love the idea behind the cover image that Nana explained during the FC Event - how the reflection beneath her is still looking back to the past while the actual her is heading towards the future.

Lots of poetic readings of kanji in this one, so there's quite a few translation notes at the end to unpack them all - bear with me!

Link or Chains -Translation-

Since it's Nana's birthday today, I am here to celebrate with a new translation! Been wanting to do this one for a while, since Link or Chains really fills me with a lot of feels every time I listen to it. It kind of makes me feel melancholic yet cathartic and it's honestly given me so much comfort during the past year - truly another amazing banger from Shihori-san. Please check out this awesome performance of this song from S.C. NANA NET Fan Club Event VIII live stream where Nana is kicking major butt while full on pregnant. Really hoping I'll get to hear this live in a concert soon - I'm almost guaranteed to bawl like a baby if I do lol.

FAN CLUB EVENT IX Summary Report

Surprise report here for FAN CLUB EVENT IX!!! To sort of ease the workload on me, I decided to combine both Day 1 & Day 2 into one report. I'm sorry I haven't really been able to dish out reports this year on LIVE HEROES and LIVE PARADE, it's been a pretty tough year for me in quite a few ways so I just lacked the energy to take on more. I'll try and figure out a new template that'll be more manageable for my reports, which means they won't be as comprehensive as they used to, but for now, please enjoy all the silliness of the past weekend! DNA -Dance 'n' Amuse- -Translation-

 

I was really itching to do the translation for DNA -Dance 'n' Amuse- since it's without any doubt my favorite song from DELIGHTED REVIVER and is living constantly rent free in my mind. So thank you for making it come 2nd in my translation poll a while back and giving me a legit excuse to dig into it! 

It's pretty different from other Nana songs with even a bit of a Latin vibe to it, which definitely played a part in reeling me in so hard since I've always been a fan of Shakira as well and as her songs are typically very sensual I kind of got possessed into make the translation for DNA -Dance 'n' Amuse- as sexy as I possibly could.
