Epic find!

I came across probably the most epic thing ever today - videos of the smile-gang! I already thought the audio clips from them were hilarious, but these videos were totally nuts! I love them to bits and spent most of my day in their pleasurable company. I don't think I've ever laughed this much when I've just been sitting alone in my room. So even though I didn't get much done yet again today (I did get something done though, already better than yesterday haha), it was totally worth it since now I just feel extremely happy. The smile-gang is definitely called that for a reason!

For those of you who wanna see those videos as well - I could've shared them on here, but since I would rather watch them with you when you do, I won't. Let's have fun times with the smile-gang together, yes?! :)

RJ transforming into....

Well I didn't really get as much done today as I had hoped - in fact I didn't get anything done whoopie doo daa dei. But! At least I did get to go into English Teacher -mode.

This week I've been helping my friend with some fansubbing. Usually I just go through the lines alone, but today I did it together with him and that is what triggered my English Teacher -mode. That basically means that whenever I suggest a correction I have to go into a lengthy explanation of why, whether it is because of a certain grammar rule or because of even such a small thing as intonation. Ah, such enthusiasm.... I swear I looked like this when I was going on and on about the finesses of the English language:

Michael Jackson: The Experience

Okay, I'm going to keep this rather short as my eyes are about to pop out of my head as a result of over-usage..

I was going to write about something really random today, but alas, the game store had other plans for me. I was walking through town minding my own business, when I happened to pass the game store and it dared to lure me in by having a large stand full of Michael Jackson: The Experience right at at the entrance. There are just some things one can't resist, not even when virtually broke. So in I marched and without hesitation bought myself a copy.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much out of this even though the idea seemed fun, but man did it rock! Playing it was just so much fun. Okay sure, the dances could never be as complex and great as what MJ really did, but they've done a good job of combining signature moves with some simple ones in between. It can also be counted as proper exercise - man we were sweating buckets!

I totally loved the difficulty level system (easy -> medium -> hard -> inhuman), though they should still add the ultimate level called MJ! Anyway - the curious thing about the levels was that I got my best result when I was playing on inhuman. Guess that just proves that I am..... not human?

Fun fact: Since our living room is rather small and the only free floor space is in front of the video projector, we played the game while standing on the sofa and armchairs. The sight was rather hilarious, but I guess it was all a plus since it gave us a chance to train our balance.

The verdict: Thriller had the best dance, definitely.

Now - Good night!

Utada Hikaru Single Collection Vol.2

This morning I was about to make toast in a half-asleep state of mind, when suddenly I felt like a toast myself - jumping out of my skin when someone knocked on the front door. My new Hikki album had arrived.

Single Collection Vol.2 is mainly just a collection of her singles (gasp, I bet you couldn't have guessed that yourself) with some added new material. Words aren't really capable of describing how amazing this album is, Hikki always seems to be topping herself with whatever she decides to do and has never brought me even slight disappointment. I'll look at some songs in detail here.

第61回NHK紅白歌合戦

I am so happy that Nana made it into this annual Japanese music show, Kōhaku Uta Gassen, that's shown on every New Year's Eve again this year! Last year was her first year on the show and she got picked again - how great is that? I can't imagine how happy she must be right now (She wrote in her blog that it came as a complete surprise to her and she cried of joy, aww <3). Also: Nana + celebration cake! :D

Admittedly I didn't even know such a show existed until today when I read this:

The concept seems quite interesting - two teams, Red Team and White Team, made up of popular Japanese artists go head to head in a song contest. I shall later on be educating myself by watching last year's show (since Nana was on it, how could I not watch it?) and then I can probably explain in more detail the flow of things. From what I've read today already though it does seem like a very fun idea.

Anyways, I hope Nana's team wins this year! :)

Hello World!

Well for some reason, every time I invade a new place like this, I have to explain what I am aiming to do there. Guess it gives me a sense of purpose. Mind you though, what I say I will use this for will probably not be all that accurate - like for example, when I joined DeviantArt and did a post like this... Alas! I have used it for nearly every other possible thing than what I said I would. Whoops. Anyway, here goes!

What I aim to write about here:
  • Pure randomness
  • Explain the deep ideas behind my AMVs (Every time I release a new one)
  • Translate lyrics, Finnish -> English mainly right now, hopefully Japanese -> English eventually
  • Obsessions - obsessions are important!
  • Myself and the crazy happenings of my life

And that's all I can think of now. I think I have pretty much all bases covered with "pure randomness" anyway (unless for some reason the randomness I write is impure? Hmm..). Oh yes, lyric translation requests are more than welcome!

But yes! I look forward to some great times with whoever decides to read this. :)
